Group Exercise Sessions

You can choose from the following:

1.  Fit and Fabulous for over 50's:

Designed specifically for people over 55years of age.  Low Impact exercises taking into account health issues that are prominent in that age bracket.  The class incorporates walking drills and simple boxing techniques designed to improve heart fitness and burn fat.  Participants will be given a proper warm up and cool down and stretching.  Body weight and/or Therabands and light weights are also used to improve heart fitness, burn fat and increase functional strength and endurance while having a bit of fun and getting some social interaction.  Duration 50min

Cost:   $2 pp (Sat morning class $8.50)

When: Mondays 9am and Fridays 9am. (NEW - Sat morning class 7.45am)

2.  Yummy Mummies Boxing For Fitness:
 

Designed especially for women who have had babies… with exercises that are specifically aimed at repairing a woman’s body after having a baby.  It is a non choreographed class involving station rotations that combine strength and power work with cardiovascular exercise using a variety of equipment including skipping ropes, 1-5kg weights, boxing gloves and mitts.  All participants will be required to wear wrist straps and cotton inners for health and safety. Punch, duck and weave your way back into your jeans! Not suitable for women who have a baby <6weeks old or have had a caesarian <3mths ago. Duration 50min

Cost: $5 pp (bookings essential)

When: Mondays 10am (Advanced class) and Fridays 10am

3.   Heartmoves:
 

This program was developed by the National Heart Foundation in conjunction with a team of specialists in cardiology, endocrinology, diabetes educators, cardiac rehabilitation, behavioural science, exercise physiology, fitness and adult education.  The result is a low-moderate intensity exercise program that is designed to be safe for those with or at risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis, obesity, and for Falls Prevention.  Duration 55min 

Cost:  $6 pp

When: Mondays 11am and Fridays 11am.

4. Mens Boxing Fitness Class:

This is a non choreographed class involving station rotations that combine strength and power work with cardiovascular exercise using a variety of equipment including skipping ropes, 1-5kg weights, boxing gloves and mitts.  The class is designed so you can work at your own pace.  Joke around with the “blokes” as you Punch, Duck and Weave your way to a fitter, healthier you!  Duration 50min 

Cost: $8.50 pp on a 10 session pass or $10 Casual

When: Mondays 6pm.

5. Activities for Kids After School:

Kids learn about correct exercise technique, posture, healthy eating habits, and their bodies in a fun learning enviorment designed to encourage positive attitudes, improve concentration and promote self-discipline and respect for self and others. For ages 7-11 yrs  Duration 55min

Cost:   FREE

When: Tuesdays after school 3:30pm  

Where: Grassy Park, Hansford rd, Coombabah
 

6. Boxing Blast:

This energetic cardiobox session combines cardio, circuts and boxing to ensure every area of your body becomes trim, taught and terrific. The class is designed so you can work at your own pace. All ages welcome. 8 week program. (Program will be extended if good community support)

Cost: $3 per session

When: Aug 6 to Sept 24

Where: Paradise Point - Esplanade North Park, The Esplanade

Next Course: Oct 1 to Nov 19

Where: Santa Barbara Charles Holms Park

 

7. Group Fitness training

A fun and active group training program to suit people of all fitness levels - what a great way to start the day.

Cost: $2 per session

When: Mondays and Fridays 6am

Where: Coombabah - Grassy Park, Hansford Rd

 

8. The "Long and Strong" Swiss Ball Session

Strengthen and tone your entire body gently using various free style and swiss ball exercises. Target your core muscles - and find those forgten abdominals! Each muscle set is then stretched to release tension and revitalise you. Unsuitable for anyone who has difficulty getting up and down off the ground. BYO Swiss ball and towel or mat.

Cost: $5 per session

When: Wednesday Mornings 9.30am

Where: Coombabah - Grassy Park, Hansford rd
